People think that places like Boondocks are just for little kids or young families, but it’s actually a lot of fun for people of all ages. The 24 teens from my Ulster Project (see previous Ulster Project post here) go there every summer as part of their schedule of activities. Turning a group of 24 fifteen and sixteen year olds can be a real riot! They enjoy the mini golf, the various racecar tracks, the bumper boats, the laser tag, and the batting cages, as well as plenty of time in the video arcades.
But it can be fun for adults as well. At the Build Your Blog Conference #BYBC2015 a few weeks ago, Boondocks was there as one of the sponsors. They gave us a nice bag of little goodies including chocolate (yay!) and some coupons for free mini golf, some tokens, and discounts on food. When I followed-up to thank them, I happened to mention that I was planning to celebrate my husband’s birthday there, they very kindly offered me a full set of family passes and a voucher for the restaurant. My family was thrilled!

Fortunately, the weekend of my husband’s birthday, the weather turned out to be just gorgeous and sunny. So, even though my youngest son wouldn’t be able to come along due to an all-day rehearsal for a play he is in, my middle son and his wife were delighted.
Our first stop was for food. My husband had a delicious burger with onion strings and I had a fabulous cesear salad with chicken and balsamic vinegar. And we split some cheese fries with bacon and cheese.
Then we were off to the slick track. I decided to stay off to the side so I could take pictures.
Matt (green car) and Pam (red car) were very competitive. Matt was trying his darndest to pass, but Pam was able to block him on every curve.
After playing on the different tracks for a while, we went over for the mini golf. We hadn’t been golfing in forever, so we had a lot of fun. As usual, I came in dead last. But it was a fun course.
We finished up with a ride on their 3D motion ride. We choose the Zombie version, of course!
If you ever get a chance to stop by Boondocks, be sure and check it out. #BoondocksFoodandFun
