How to Use the new Tailwind Tribes Feature

Welcome Button CroppedWelcome!  If you are looking for some help with your Pinterest account, you are in the right place.  I love Pinterest and I LOVE teaching people how to do stuff, so this is definitely a win-win situation.

Let me show you how to use the NEW Tailwind Tribes feature. It's easier and more powerful than you might think!

For me, Pinterest is a business, a hobby, and a bit of an obsession all rolled into one.  And it’s a topic of endless fascination for me.  My latest Pinterest toy is the new Tribes feature in Tailwind.  If you’re not familiar with Tailwind, it is a very helpful scheduling tool that I have been using for the last six months or so.  I have to say, it is pretty awesome and it has enabled me to obtain some massive growth in my overall Pinterest reach.

The Tribes feature has only been available for about a month, so I think it’s still in Beta, but I am LOVING it.  Like any community, Pinterest wants to make sure you are playing nice by pinning stuff from other people, and not just your own material all the time.  But the question is, where to find good, quality pins that you want to add to your boards.  That’s where the Tribes feature comes in.  You can create a Tribe and add all your blogger friends to it.  They can add their best pins to your shared space and you also add your best pins and everyone in the group can see them and pin them.

Tailwind Tribes are the EASY way to get MORE repins Click To Tweet

The best thing is the Viral score in the upper right hand corner of each pin.  That way you can see how many times the pin or the post has been shared both on Pinterest and on Facebook.  So if it has a high number, that’s a pretty popular pin and you probably want to grab it for your boards.  On the other hand, if a pin has a very low number, then you can help out your friend by pinning it a few times.

  1. Hello! I would love to be a part of your tribe if you are still adding pinners. Thank you!

  2. Hi, Adrian! I would also love to get an invitation to your Tailwind Tribe. I’ve included my email. Thanks in advance!

    • My tribe isn’t that big on recipes, it’s mostly parenting and general blog posts, but I’ve sent you an invitation anyway. I’d love it if you could do me a favor. I’m working with a food blogger and I’m trying to find some great food tribes for him – mostly Gluten free and Paleo. Can you point me to any good food tribes or any nice group boards for him?

  3. Hi! I would love to be included in your tribe. Thank you so much!

  4. This is great information! I’m a new blogger and just learning about Tailwind. Thanks for the post.

  5. I found this post through the #SITSBlogging link up and it was definitely useful for me!
I’m a new blogger (I’ve been doing this only for a couple of months) so I’m still learning everything related to blogging and social media in general. I’ve always loved Pinterest for my DIY inspirations but I was not aware of Tailwind nor the tribe option! I’ll definitely look into that!
Thanks for your tips and happy weekend!

    • I’ve used several different tools like this over the years and I think Tailwind is definitely the best one. I’ve sent an invitation to your Email that will give you a free 30 days use of the service.

  6. I just signed up for tailwind today! So I am trying to catch up and learn this tribe thing. Thanks for the info!

    • It is awesome! I hope you used one of my affiliate links. Then we’ll each get a free month of service. I’ll send you an invitation to my Tribe.

  7. Hi! Thank you for this post, I just learned about tribes and I find it really interesting. I would love to be a part of your tribe if you will have me. I post about social media with an emphasis on youtube and growing your youtube channel. My email is

  8. Thanks for the tips. I’ve just starting using Tailwind, so still learning all the ins-and-outs. So, I appreciate the info! Stopping by from Saturday Sharefest and pinning (of course!).

  9. I wasn’t familiar with TailWind until I received an invite for my first Tribe this week. You’re right – it’s useful and a lot of fun! I hope I can afford to keep it when my trial runs out. There are just too many cool tools out there now. 🙂

    • I’ve used most of the ones on the market pretty extensively and I can honestly say Tailwind is the best one going. And if you get the yearly plan, it works out to just $10/month. That’s pretty affordable, especially if it brings you some income in terms of traffic or affiliate campaigns.

  10. I started using Tailwind about 2 months ago and love it! I had no idea this was a thing, but I love the idea. Gonna check out the Tribes feature this week. =)

    • I know, I think it’s the coolest feature ever! I had a nice chat with the developers a couple of weeks ago. I’ve just invited you to my Tribe.

  11. Wow, Adrian! Thanks for clarifying all this. I have just started using Tailwind, and now I can’t wait to check out the Tribes feature. Happy 4th!

    • I’ve tried a few different schedulers and I think Tailwind is the coolest by far and I’m really excited about the Tribes feature. I’ve just invited you to my Tribe.

  12. I’d love to be a part of your tribe if you’re looking to add people. I’d heard about this but didn’t really know what it was until reading this post. Great info!!!

    • Yes, absolutely. I’d love to have some of your money posts in my tribe. There are a lot of recipes and preschool posts that aren’t really a good fit for my boards.

  13. Thanks for the information! I’ve been wanting to try Tailwind for a while now!

  14. I love the Tribe feature and love being part of your Tribe Adrian! Pinning this!
