Is Your Pinterest Account a HOT MESS?

Welcome Button Cropped

Hi there!  So glad you decided to stop by today.  If you are looking for a little help with your Pinterest account, you are in the right place.

Pinterest is a great tool and it’s been an awesome resource for a lot of people, blogs, and businesses.  Personally, I get about 75% to 90% of my traffic from Pinterest and I’m extremely happy to have it.  However, there is definitely a learning curve with Pinterest, and if you’re not careful you can definitely do things WRONG.

You may be doing Pinterest all wrong. I've got some helpful tips to get your boards back on track.

That’s where I come in.  I’ve got a pretty long history with Pinterest – I have more than 30,000 pins and more than 10,000 Followers.  My account has grown by about 60% in just 18 months.  And for the past year or so, I’ve been making a good portion of my income from helping dozens of individuals and businesses clean up their Pinterest accounts.  I’ve learned a LOT by doing this and I’ve put together some strategies to solve some of the more common Pinterest mistakes I’ve seen.

This is an example from one of my clients (I’ve blocked out her name and website – don’t want to embarrass anyone).  Can you see some of the mistakes she was making?

Are you making these Pinterest mistakes? Before and After screenshots from one of my clients. See how much better it looks?

The changes I made were not huge – most of them I was able to make in just about an hour.  You can spare an hour, can’t you?

I had her change her profile image – people like to see your FACE, updated her description slightly, changed her board order so her money-making boards were at the very TOP of her profile.  I also changed the covers on many of her boards to something more attractive and eye-catching.  I combined some boards and advised her to beef up some boards that were skimpy.  You want nice, rich, juicy boards that people are going to want to come back to.  Then I showed her my trick how to use the competition as leverage to get more Followers.  See how her number jumped from 186 Followers to 195 Followers in just one day – that’s not a bad start.

I’ve taken all the lessons I’ve learned from my clients and put them into a helpful Ebook to help people manage their own Pinterest accounts.  And I have a sample chapter for Y-O-U!!!  I’ve actually got all sorts of little plans in the works – I’m working on a 7-day online Pinterest makeover class, I’m thinking about a private mastermind group on Facebook, I may even start offering private consultations.  I don’t want to get too excited because I’m just taking babysteps to get things started and step one is to get the Ebook going.

For now, you can just click on my popup box to get started with your sample chapter.  If for some reason, the box isn’t working (I’ve had some problems with my popups lately!), just leave me a comment with your Email and I’ll get you the link for your free sample.

  1. Thanks Adrian. I look forward to reading the first chapter of Your Pinterest Book. Do you have another book that tells you how to add 4 hours to your day? I’d like that one too. LOL. Nancy Andres @

    • Thank you Nancy! I hope you will enjoy it. I have so many more great tips to share with people. I am a little obsessed with Pinterest and in fact, am playing around on it right now. As for the extra 4 hours to your day – funny you should ask. If you’ll go to my main page and look in the upper right corner, there is another Ebook you can sign up for. It’s called 7 Ways to be Insanely Productive or something like that… The reason I call it Adrian’s Crazy Life is because I am crazy busy most of the time, but I’m also extremely focused and productive. So, some of these tips will definitely help you find at least an extra hour or two per day. Good luck to you!

  2. I need all the Pinterest help I can get…I’d love a copy of your e-book so I can learn some of your strategies! xoxo

    • Fabulous! Though I’ve seen your Pinterest account – it looks pretty good already. But, hopefully I can share a tip or two you might find helpful.

  3. I’m a total hot mess when it comes to Pinterest! I mainly just use it for myself and not blog promotion… Your ebook sounds awesome!

    • I didn’t used to use it for blog promotion. It was sort of my hobby in the beginning, but now the vast majority of my traffic comes from there and I notice a definite drop in my ad revenues if I don’t stay active over there. If you want to try the sample chapter, I’d be happy to send it your way. I think you would find some helpful tips even from there.

  4. I’ve been working on my Pinterest account and took a class which helped me boost my Pinterest traffic immensely. It’s such a great resource for bloggers! Stopping by from SITS blogging!

  5. Annette says:

My pinterest needs some help so I too would love a copy of that ebook. These changes seem doable and I would like to improve my pinterest coverage.

    • Yes, Annette. I will be only too happy to send you the sample chapter of my book. I think it will give you some good tips to get you started.

  6. I can always learn more. I should take a look at my boards and see if the images are juicy and appealing! Congratulations on the wonderful success with Pinterest!

    • You know Seana, you have always been my most stalwart and faithful supporter and now I have a chance to do a good deed for you. I’m going to send you a free copy of my Ebook and I’ll be happy to give you a few specific ideas that might help your boards.

  7. Some really good tips. How do you rearrange the boards though?

    • Great question. Fortunately, that is super easy. You can just go to your main page and just move them around any which way, just like one of those little slider puzzles we did when we were kids. I am always very thoughtful about my board order and I place my most important boards right on that top row and sometimes if they are seasonal boards, I’ll move them around to get them better visibility during the right season.

  8. What a great read. My Pinterest account is absolutely a hot mess. In fact I tend to stay away from Pinterest just for this reason. Would love a copy of the ebook.
