Remember these cute girls? I went on a cruise with them in January and then I went to their conference in February.
Now, they’ve got me COOKING! Yes, me! Actually cooking. That’s quite a joke around our family that I can do just about anything but cook. But it’s true. My Mom brought me up on a steady diet of TV dinners – she thought they were the most brilliant invention ever. So I never had all these great memories of cooking with my family and having delicious dinners on the table on a regular basis.
On the other hand, no one has ever starved at my house. My husband cooks and I can make a few simple things like spaghetti and pork chops. But at one of my blog conferences, I think it was BYBC#14, someone gave me a copy of their cookbook and I actually started looking at it. And I thought – I can DO that and also my family would LIKE these recipes. A lot of the recipes I find in cookbooks or online just aren’t things my family is willing to eat. We are basic meat ‘n potatoes eaters and we like butter and cheese and gravy… All the food groups!
So, I started making some of their recipes and my family just LOVED them. And I liked them too. They were easy to make, I didn’t have to shop for a ton of weird ingredients that I probably wouldn’t use for another year. I especially liked the slow cooker ones because I work, so I can pop everything into the crockpot in the morning before work and have it all ready by the time I get home from work.
That’s why I was so pleased when I heard that they were coming out with a collection of specifically crockpot recipes. And 50 of them. That’s at least six months worth for us because we rotate them around and repeat the ones we like best. And then I heard that it was 50% off! That’s a great bargain.
