Pinterest is probably my favorite social media outlet. On days when I have time (rare!) I can browse around there and pin pretty pictures for hours. But as a busy blogger, I tend to use it as more of a tool to promote my blog. Like many bloggers, a big portion of my traffic comes from Pinterest, so I stay VERY active over there.
I have over 14,000 pins and about 50 boards – many of them group boards, both mine and other people’s. I have a Viral Tag account that I share with four other ladies, and I use it to pin every one of my posts to a dozen or so group boards. I space them out over several days so each one hits a different group of my Followers. Here is a great post about how I use my Viral Tag account.
I also have a number of my own group boards that I share with dozens of my blogger friends. It’s definitely a win-win. I get great material for my boards and they get a place to pin their work. And the more terrific pins are added to a board, the more likely it will attract a great following.
My boards are open to any legitimate blogger, although I do monitor them carefully for any spam or abusive pinning (pinning items that don’t fit the board’s theme, or pinning hundreds of pins at once). If you’d like to join one of my group boards, just come and Follow me over on Pinterest and leave a comment on any of my pins. I do check each applicant’s boards for appropriate content and then I add people once or twice a week. I generally add people to all the boards and then they can pick and choose which they choose to accept.
Here are some samples from my group boards
Show Me the Money Bloggers – for any type of money saving, frugal-type posts.
Mommy (and Daddy) Bloggers – Anything related to parenting
Keep Clean and Organized – My board for organizing and cleaning posts
I also have a couple of other more special boards. As the mother of a bullied child – who is now doing an anti-bullying Eagle Project, I have a special board called Moms Against Bullying with lots of great resources for bullied children and their parents.
This lovely black and white artwork called Zentangles is something of a hobby of mine. So, I started a group board called Zentangles are the New Black.
So, there you are – all my fabulous group boards. C’mon over and join up, or just click to find some great resources for a particular topic. That’s one thing I like about creating these boards. You are putting together a marvelous resource for others to be able to use. Next time, I will share a post I shared recently on the Utah Scouts blog about my Scouting and Camping Pinterest boards….
