Blogger Resources – My Pinterest Group Boards

Blogger Resources - My Pinterest Group Boards - AdriansCrazyLife These are my group boards - they are open to all legitimate bloggers and have some great resources. Pinterest is probably my favorite social media outlet.  On days when I have time (rare!) I can browse around there and pin pretty pictures for hours.  But as a busy blogger, I tend to use it as more of a tool to promote my blog.  Like many bloggers, a big portion of my traffic comes from Pinterest, so I stay VERY active over there.

I have over 14,000 pins and about 50 boards – many of them group boards, both mine and other people’s.  I have a Viral Tag account that I share with four other ladies, and I use it to pin every one of my posts to a dozen or so group boards.  I space them out over several days so each one hits a different group of my Followers.  Here is a great post about how I use my Viral Tag account.

I also have a number of my own group boards that I share with dozens of my blogger friends.  It’s definitely a win-win.  I get great material for my boards and they get a place to pin their work.  And the more terrific pins are added to a board, the more likely it will attract a great following.

My boards are open to any legitimate blogger, although I do monitor them carefully for any spam or abusive pinning (pinning items that don’t fit the board’s theme, or pinning hundreds of pins at once).  If you’d like to join one of my group boards, just come and Follow me over on Pinterest and leave a comment on any of my pins.  I do check each applicant’s boards for appropriate content and then I add people once or twice a week.  I generally add people to all the boards and then they can pick and choose which they choose to accept.

Here are some samples from my group boards

Recipes from All My Foodie Friends – I don’t care for recipes that much, but my friends are all crazy about them, so I keep a board just for them.

Pinteresting Bloggers is my catch-all category.  Bloggers can pin any non-spammy blog posts here.

I also have a couple of other more special boards.  As the mother of a bullied child – who is now doing an anti-bullying Eagle Project, I have a special board called Moms Against Bullying with lots of great resources for bullied children and their parents.

This lovely black and white artwork called Zentangles is something of a hobby of mine.  So, I started a group board called Zentangles are the New Black.

So, there you are – all my fabulous group boards.  C’mon over and join up, or just click to find some great resources for a particular topic.  That’s one thing I like about creating these boards.  You are putting together a marvelous resource for others to be able to use.  Next time, I will share a post I shared recently on the Utah Scouts blog about my Scouting and Camping Pinterest boards….

  1. Hi Adrian! I am trying to grow my very small Pinterest follower group as I’m a blogger and cater to female geeks and nerds. I’d probably only fit into the Pinterest Bloggers category but I’d love an invite if you like my boards. =) Thanks so much!

    • Thanks! I’ll add you the next time I add some more folks to my account. I’m pretty nerdy too. You’ll have to have a peek at my Talk Nerdy to Me board and my Luv Me Some Steampunk boards.

  2. WOW! Girl, you know your stuff. I could learn a thing or two from you – and I NEED to! I’ve been on Pinterest forever, but am just now learning about these group boards. I’m going to check it out! Thanks for sharing!

    • I hope you do come and join my boards, I’d LOVE to have you and it’s a great way to maximize the exposure your posts get. I’ve noticed a definite boost in my traffic since I’ve been doing this.

  3. Hm. I have a Pinterest account to promote my blog but for the life of me I’ve never understood the whole Pinterest thing (I am a terrible 25 year old, I know). I will have to look into this later today when I have a little more free time, it’s a neat idea.

    • If you are at all serious about blogging, Pinterest will be your BEST friend! Like anything else, there is a learning curve, but it’s easier than you’d think to use. Couple of easy tips – make sure your blog name shows in your main profile so people can find you easily. Have at least one board devoted to your blog post and keep it at the top of your profile, make sure you have great photo covers on your boards. I’ve gotten a lot better at adding descriptions to my pins and I think it’s gotten me a lot more click-thrus. Hope that helps!

  4. Fantastic, would love to join a couple of your group boards. Will pop on over and have a look 🙂 Thanks, I’m loving Pinterest at the moment too!

  5. Thanks for this. I need to add more group boards.

  6. This was so incredibly helpful to me—I didn’t even know Pinterest boards existed until I read this LOL. I’m a little behind!!! I’m about to watch your video on viraltags, now. Thanks for sharing the knowledge 🙂 🙂

(stopping by from the SITS girls linkup!)

    • Stopping from SITS Girls? Aren’t they just the bomb! I’ve been with them since 2008. These Pinterest group boards have boosted my traffic tremendously. I hope you will join mine and see for yourself.

    • Tried to leave a comment on your make-up post, but Blogger isn’t liking me right now. It won’t bring up a comment form. I love your makeup tips – especially the blush one. I quit wearing foundation years ago, but it’s probably time I started again. I just don’t like it rubbing off all the time, so maybe having it lighter will help with that.

  7. I love this! I just got set up with a scheduler myself and I’m going to begin using group boards now so I’m definitely going to start posting to yours. Thanks so much for letting me join!

    • And I’m happy to have you. You have some great msterial to share on special needs kids. Those are the meaty kids of posts I like best.
